Priority Work Areas

Cancer Alliances bring together clinical and managerial leaders from different hospital trusts and other health and social care organisations, to transform the diagnosis, treatment and care for cancer patients in their local area. These partnerships enable care to be more effectively planned across local cancer pathways and ultimately we are improving cancer care together.

The collaboration that exists has enabled us to make good progress to delivering our ambition and we are pleased to have received ‘Trailblazer’ status from the National Cancer Programme Team.  From small, logistical improvement to innovative, multi-disciplinary diagnostic pathways, the transformation of cancer care across the Region is well underway.
